Patently Perfect

Patent leather has been huge of late. Of course, it’s one of those things that never completely goes out of style, so it’s a good investment. Basic black is always a winner, too. Again, colors may come and colors may go, but it’s difficult to go too far wrong with black. So if you combine basic black and patent leather, chances are you’ve got a winner of a purse.

Of course, you want something that’s going to make it stand out in order to be superfantastic. That’s why I love this black patent leather clutch by Kenneth Jay Lane. Classic it may be - timeless, even - but it won’t get mixed up with anyone else’s bag in the cloakroom or on a restaurant table.

Kenneth Jay Lane Ladybug Clutch Between the half-bow detail and the charming enamled ladybug ornament, it stands out in a crowd of ordinary clutches.

It’s practical, too. The flap closes with a magnetic clasp, and there’s also an interior zipper just in case. It even comes with a signature mirror.

And of course there’s the price. When it first arrived on the scene, it was priced at $250.00, but it’s now on sale at Saks Fifth Ave for just $174.90! That’s more than $75.00 off the original quite reasonable price!

What a Pear!

Sometimes you just need a small sparkle to really make your outfit shine. Of course you want that sparkle to show wit, express taste, and not break the bank.

Kenneth Jay Lane Pear Pendant This charming pear pendant by Kenneth Jay Lane comes strung on a 17.5″ gold chain. The pear itself is classic black, but the leaf paved with rhinestones will add a touch of brilliance to any outfit.

Oh, and that bit about not breaking the bank? It’s true that this lovely necklace did sell for $105.00, which wasn’t at all bad to begin with, but now it’s available at Net-A-Porter for just $42.00! Designer jewelry at 60% off? Color me there!
