Saks Fifth Ave has some brilliant deals on goodies to deck next year’s hall. Ornaments by designers like Christopher Radko
, Kurt Adler Polonaise
, Michael Storrings for Landmark Creations
, and even Versace
are being blown out at prices that will allow you to play Santa for your nearest and dearest. Twistie’s pick? This:
This is the Sultana Egg ornament by Jay Strongwater. It’s made of mouthblown glass painted with brilliant metallic colors and studded with tiny jewels. Gorgeous. The regular price is $140.00, and I think it’s worth that. Still, I’d rather pay the sale price of just $56.00.
Of course Saks isn’t the only place offering ornaments for next year at great prices, and some nice ornaments aren’t made my famous designers.
These charming tree-shaped woven wire lights may not have a designer name to them, but they’ll still add to the festivity of your home next year. Each string has ten lights placed 10″ apart and is UL listed for safety.
As for the price, well, they started out at $29.95, but they can be yours from Wrapables.com for just $19.99.
And we all know that Christmas ornaments don’t need to be in the shapes of Christmas items. They can be shaped like famous buildings, flowers, and all sorts of things. How about one shaped like a beloved pet?
This little cutie is a Norwitch Terrier, but there are other breeds available from Joy to the World Collectibles at Nordstrom, including goodies for us cat lovers. Made of beautifully painted glass, you can feel good not just about the look, but also from the fact that Joy to the World donates 10% of their annual profits to the Morris Animal Foundation.
Besides, it’s on a great sale! Regularly priced at $38.00, it’s been marked down to a mere $24.90.
Whatever holiday you celebrate, I hope it has been a happy one this year, and that your savings were merry and bright.]]>
Speaking of which, I have a particular fondness for little things that sparkle. Jewelry, christmas tree ornaments, and tiny bejeweled sculptures delight me on a fundamental level. I love to see a flash of bright color glinting out of the corner of my eye.
That’s why I nearly clapped my hands with joy when I ran across these:
Just look at them. They come in twelve different colors, one for every birthstone, and were designed by Jay Strongwater. Each one is hand enameled and set with Swarovski crystals. Get the one for the month you were born, or collect the whole set and enjoy all that sparkle.
Just be sure to do your shopping at Bergdorf Goodman! See, while the retail price on these boxes is $295.00 each, BG has them right now for just $192.00 apiece.
Oh, and my birthday? Is in September. Just, you know, for the record.]]>
One way to avoid the stress and actually enjoy the holidays is to get some of the work done in advance and online.
If you’re looking for new ornaments or a great gift for someone who loves Christmas as much as I do, Saks Fifth Avenue has just the thing to help in the guise of lots of great ornaments by Jay Strongwater and Christopher Radko on sale.
This gorgeous starfish ornament by Jay Strongwater is mouth blown glass, hand-enameled, hand-painted and further sparklefied (that’s my word, and I’m sticking to it) with Swarovski crystals. It will add color, sparkle, and all kinds of superfantasticness to your Christmas tree…or wherever you happen to hang it. Who says it has to go on a tree and then be boxed up for the rest of the year, after all?
Oh, and did I mention it’s on sale? The retail price is $148.00, which really isn’t bad for all that handwork. Right now, though, you can go the Saks website and get it for a mere $88.80 and not even stand in line!]]>
