Flakey Goodness

When it’s this cold out, there’s one of two things to do: find a way to warm up or go with the cold flow. with a little help from this:

Turquoise and Snowflake Bracelet you may be able to do both at once.

Noah Philippe made this beauty for Green Earth out of genuine turquoise, silver plate chain and charms, and glass beads in blue and clear for a cool bracelet that will warm your heart.

Another warming feature is the pricetag. The suggested retail price is $149.99, but you can get it from Finejewelers.com for just $79.99.

Despite the color, this one isn’t making me at all blue.

Cuff Me!

To those of you who have been keeping up with this blog for a while, it comes as no surprise that I love bracelets. I particularly love cuff bracelets, and dramatic ones at that. So imagine my delight when my eyes lighted on this lovely item:

Julia Rofman Beaded Cuff While it pays homage to the Southwest, it’s a completely modern design full of verve and originality. So pretty.

And of course if you see it here, you know it’s on sale. This beauty originally would have set you back $225.00, but if you hurry you can order it from shopbop.com for just $157.50.

Harlow Can You Go?

If you’re looking for an extra touch of sparkle to put under the tree for someone special, now would be a good time to head over to Net-A-Porter. You see, they have this on sale:

Dannijo Harlow Bracelet It’s the Harlow bracelet by Dannijo. It’s made of oxidized silver chain links studded with Swarovski crystals. So pretty, so fun, so versatile.

And such a good deal, too! The Net-A-Porter usually sells it for $210.00, which is a big savings over the retail price. Right now, though, they’re selling it for a mere $126.00.

At that price maybe you can make someone you love sparkle this holiday season. What? I never said you couldn’t love you.

On the Cuff

When it comes to accessories, I’m a firm believer in a good bracelet. It’s immediately visible and makes a dramatic statement…if you choose the right one.

So which is the right one? Well, I have to say this one would be a great place to start:

Kara Ross Enameled Cuff Kara Ross designed this beauty of heavily textured brown enamel over 18k goldplate. That texture? Resembles a tree trunk, for an earthy look. A swish of gold decorated with five tiny tiger’s eye cabachon finishes the look.

All in all, it’s a look that nobody will forget.

What you can forget is the original retail price of $350.00. You see, if you act now you can get it from Bloomingdale’s for just $245.00.

Oh, and Bloomie’s has a special bonus deal going on now. If you spend a minimum of $500.00 on selected merchandise (including this bracelet!) you can get a $100.00 splurge card toward your next purchase of $150.00 or more!

Style on the Fly

I’ve always had a bit of a thing for butterflies. Unfortunately, it’s sometimes difficult to find a butterfly-themed item that doesn’t raise images of glitter-obsessed pre-teens. I want a butterfly that’s clearly designed for an adult to love. In short, I want something like this:

Jessica Kagan Cushman Butterfly Big Cuff
It’s by Jessica Kagan and is made of carved resin. With the black coloring in the carved butterfly, it gives the sophisticated effect of an engraving. Just gorgeous. Not only that, since it’s such a dramatic piece, it’s sure to attract attention wherever you go.

Of course, I wouldn’t even mention it here if it wasn’t a great deal. The usual price is $160.00, but right now you can get it at Shopbop for just $80.00. That’s half off!

But I’d recommend hurrying. After all, butterflies are ephemeral and don’t last long. Neither do deals like this one.

You Could Give Me This Bird…

…I wouldn’t even be insulted. In fact, I would thank you.

Here’s why:

Alkemie Jewelry Hummingbird Cuff
Isn’t it fabulous? It’s an extravagant Hummingbird Cuff by Alkemie created from reclaimed metals for an eco-friendly yet superfantastic look. It really speaks for itself.

Another thing that speaks for itself is the pricetag. The retail price on it may be $209.00, but right now you can get it from ShopBop for just $104.50. To put it another way, it’s half off, making it just as economically-friendly as it is eco-friendly.

What’s Gorgeous and Gold and Sustainable All Over?

This handsome bracelet:

Green Gold Bracelet
Jewelry artist Clara Saldarriaga gathers up Andean memory leaves, dips them in copper, and then in liquid gold. Using this method, all the details of the leaves shine through.

It isn’t a new method. It’s been found in pieces in Inca tombs.

Saldarriaga sources her gold from the Choco region of Columbia, where a global pilot program is using sustainable methods to mine in a way that protects the complex ecosystem of the region.

And while you’re feeling good about how the jewelry is made, you can also rest easy that it won’t be hard on your budget. The original price for the bracelet was $179.00, but that price has dropped by over a hundred dollars! Right now, it can be yours from Viva Terra for just $72.00!

Look good, feel good, live easy on your bank account. What’s not to love?

Get a Ross Deal

Big bracelets are superfantastic. Color is hot. So it stands to reason that a big, colorful bracelet is something to make a Twistie smile.

You’d be right in that.

This delightful cuff bracelet by Kara Rossicon is what’s making Twistie smile today. Just look at it. It’s big, but there’s so much open space that it appears delicate and feminine. As for color, just take a look at that oversized turquoise and keep a napkin handy. If, however, you’re not as wild about bright blue as I am, it’s also available in white jade. Both are set in 18k gold over brass for a look that’s hot as summer and cool as a cucumber.

As for the price, well, you don’t expect something this incredible to be cheap. It isn’t. It is, however, on an excellent sale making it a lot more affordable. The retail price is $276.00, but right now at Saks.com you can get it on sale for just $193.20.

Oh, and if you act before Monday, you can also get free shipping. Use code: SAKSSHIP9. See site for details.

And hurry! You don’t want me to beat you to this deal, do you?

Dress Like an Egyptian

There’s nothing I love better than a good piece of jewelry…unless it’s a great piece of jewelry at a superfantastic deal.

Roberto Cavalli Scarab Bracelet Witness this piece of delicious. It’s a bangle bracelet by Roberto Cavalli with a gorgeous scarab charm dangling from it. It’s enameled gold tone metal and comes in your choice of black (shown) or copper. It’s also an amazing deal right now at eLuxury.

The retail price on this fabulous piece was $265.00, which really wasn’t at all bad for such a great piece. Now, though, at eLuxury, you can get it for just $66.00. That’s right, it’s a mere $66.00, or $199.00 off the original price.

I don’t know about you, but I intend to hurry on this one!

Shop the Bop ‘Til You Drop

I love a great deal, as well you know by now. Even as a child I found a special thrill in rooting through the bargain racks to find treasures that others had missed. Other women may spend their time down memory lane recalling their weddings, etc., but my triumphant memory was the time I found a perfect pair of 100% wool fully lined navy blue trousers for a mere two bucks. They even fit me perfectly without tailoring, which, looking back, may explain why they were on that rack for so little. It’s not every day you find perfectly fitted pants off the rack for a 5’2″ woman with her natural waistline half an inch below her bust and legs that aren’t as stumpy as you might imagine.

(Note to Mr. Twistie, should he ever read this: you know I think a lot about our wedding, dear. It was truly as great a triumph as those pants. After all, look at what a beautiful day I planned on two shiny nickels and a dream.)

Still, deals make me happier than almost anything. So it stands to reason that I love places that give me lots of great deals on beautiful things. And that’s why I dropped by ShopBop this morning to take a look at their sales racks.

So many pretty things! So many great deals! Just look what I found in their 50% off ‘rack:’

Lee Angel Jewelry Anik Bangles - Set of 3
So pretty. So elegant. So timeless. So on sale.

This set of three bangles by Lee Angel features coral cabochons and pave rhinestones for a combination of cool and glitter that’s hard to resist. Wear just one or stack them up. Add them to a poolside drinks look or use them as the finishing touch to a more formal outfit. Either way, they’re the perfect way to add stackable charm without  cluttering up your wrist.

And did I mention that 50% off bit? I believe I did, but it definitely bears repeating. These bracelets are half off! The original price was $216.00, which really wasn’t too bad for what you’re getting. But right now at Shopbop you can get the set for just $108.00

All the pretty, half the price. Now that’s what I call a good deal.
