Bring On the Bangles

As readers of this space already know, I have a bit of a thing for bracelets. I love them in cuff form, bangle form…however they come. Luckily for me, bracelets have been big news in fashion for the past few seasons as well. Since they’re hot, all the best designers are doing their most creative work to get their armwear noticed, and that means we all win.

Alexis This fabulous lucite bangle with wired gunmetal detailing is by the talented Alexis Bittar, who does amazing work in these materials. This is not a piece of jewelry for the shy at heart, but it’s a great statement piece if you’re looking to get yourself noticed.

It also happens to be a great bargain just now. Originally priced at a whopping $355.00, it can be purchased at Bergdorf Goodman right now for just $178.00!

Oh, and if you decide to buy at least $250.00 worth of merchandise from Bergdorf Goodman this month, remember to use code BGMARCH at checkout to get free shipping on your internet order.

No Bittar Pill

I love a good bracelet, as well you know, if you follow this space with any regularity. If you love great bracelets, too, take a look at this one:

It’s made of flame colored lucite, trimmed in gold and studded with Swarovski crystals. It’s also elegant, fun, and designed by Alexis Bittar. You can’t go wrong with a piece like this in your wardrobe.

Of course it is possible to pay too much. Don’t worry, I wouldn’t let you do that! I’m here to tell you to head on over to Net-A-Porter where you can get it for half the original price. That’s right, it normally runs $275.00, but is available at Net-A-Porter for just $137.50.

Get a second one for a very special friend who wants to look just as superfantastic as you do!

Bittar and Blue for Green

What’s even better than a good sale on a superfantastic item? A good sale on a superfantastic item when the profits go to a good cause, that’s what!

The New York Botanical Gardens work to provide excellence in horticulture, science and education. They currently have an extensive collection of the sculptures of Henry Moore displayed throughout the gardens.

I may have the worst case of black thumb on record (I look at plants and they die horribly. I’ve killed cacti by failing to water them enough. I feel terrible about it, but I don’t seem able to overcome this particular problem.) but I do appreciate plants. I want them to grow and thrive. I also want to wear beautiful jewelry and have pretty things in my home.

Thanks to the gift shop of the New York Botanical Gardens, I can support plant life, wear beautiful jewelry, and still save money! Trifecta!

These gorgeous sterling silver and blue topaz earrings by Alexis Bittar, for instance, make my heart sing.

Alexis Bittar Blue Topaz Earrings They’re gorgeous. They look cool as ice on a hot day and sparkle beautifully. They also happen to be on sale!

Normally priced at $128.00, they’ve been marked down to just $89.60. Of course, if I got a membership, the price would fall to just $71.68 (ah, the benefits of joining things!). Either way, the profits go to plants and art, both of which I can support in a big way, even if I’m not terribly good at making either one. Everybody wins, and that’s way ahead of what’s in second place.
