Friday Finds Under Fifty: The Don’t Sweat It Edition

Spring is closing in on us quickly, but there’s still a sometimes chill in the air. I know we all are looking forward to peeling off the layers and baring our shoulders, but now is the best time of the year to get a great deal on outerwear. And so I thought I’d present a few deals going out there on sweaters.

This metallic portrait-collared cardigan is from Newport News.

Newport News Metallic CardiganTake a look at the pretty cut and elegant portrait collar. It’s going to stand you in good stead on cool spring evenings, and it will still look great over a thermal turtleneck next winter. Unfortunately, the color shown is out of stock (sorry, they didn’t have full pictures of the other colors in action), but it’s still available in Bronze, Midnight, and Magenta. Oh, and while the original price was a budget-friendly $74.00, it’s now available for just $14.99!

Of course, woman does not live by cardigans alone.

Halogen Scoop Neck HenleyThis adorable grey Henley by Halogen is just the thing for when you want to dress down without losing your sense of style. With it’s trend-on 3/4 sleeves and subtle ribbing, it will look just as good as it will feel.

The other thing you’ll feel great about is the price. The retail value is $68.00, but it’s on sale at Nordstrom right now for just $39.90!

As for this one, is it a sweater? Is it a jacket? I don’t know and I don’t care. All I know is it’s superfantastic and a heck of a deal!

Cableknit and Suede JacketOkay, I admit it’s mostly suede, but there’s a heep trim of cableknit over the leather. Still, it’s close enough for my money…particularly considering how little money it is!

How much is that? Well, once upon a time it was $139.00. Now, though, it’s on sale at Coldwater Creek for a mere $38.99. Now how’s that for a deal?

You know, we all need a good-looking but not too fussy sweater to wear when Fido needs a walk late at night or when dropping the kids off at school, or even when running down to the convenience store for a bag of munchies before the big game starts.

Women: Double-breasted sweater - eclipseIt comes in two colors (Eclipse, shown, and Alabaster), and in tall and petite sizes as well as regulars. It’s just the thing when you need a sweater to grab for any informal purpose.

Of course, it sure doesn’t hurt that it’s a great deal right now. The GAP originally carried it for $58.00, which was a nice price to start with. Now, though, it’s on sale for just $35.99.

Twistie, I check in on this blog a few times a week and often sigh wistfully over the treasures you’ve found but decide to stick to my spending diet. However, I’ve been really wanting to add some stylish new cardigans to my wardrobe lately, and I couldn’t resist getting a $74 sweater for $14.99. I also found another pretty cardigan on the Newport News site for $19.99, and a $64 skirt also marked down to $19.99. I’ve never ordered from them before, but I am looking forward to trying them out when my order arrives!

I’m glad I could help you both find great clothes and stick to your budget, Cat! Believe me, I’ve been in your stylish yet affordable shoes more than once in my life, so I know that not everyone has the means to take advantage of a $300.00 bargain. That’s why I instituted Friday Finds Under Fifty.

Enjoy your new clothes when they get here!
