Dressing With Flare | Manolo's Basement of the Bargains

Dressing With Flare

Fit and flare is the byword of the moment in the fashion world. I must admit that’s something that always makes me happy, because that means lots of flattering and fabulous princess lines. Of course, when buying something you hope to use for a long time, it’s important not to go too far overboard with the ‘now’ look in case it looks ‘so then’ well before you’re done with it.

Still, you can find something that’s up-to-the-minute now and won’t look silly a year or three down the road. Case in point, take a look at this lucious little coat:

Bloomingdale It’s got all the current hot buttons in fashion: double breast, fit and flare styling, and a fabulous collar. It’s very now. On the other hand, the coloring (it comes in charcoal as shown or basic black) is timeless. While double breasted may or may not stick around as top of the fashion pops for a couple years, it never goes completely out for outerwear. Princess seams are never inappropriate. In short, this is a look that will mark you as a trendsetter now, but won’t look hideously dated when you need it for next winter. In fact, it will probably turn heads in a good way for years to come.

As for the details that aren’t about cut, it’s made of a warm blend of wool, nylon, and cashmere, has side pockets to help keep your hands warm, and is lined in a striking leopard print.

Oh, and then there’s the little matter of the price. Bloomingdale’s has been carrying it for the already very nice price of $290.00. That’s a great deal for an investment piece like a coat, especially one that’s so pretty. But we don’t call this the Basement of the Bargains for nothing! No, this delightful coat is on sale right now for a mere $202.99!

What’s more, for a limited time if you use code SHIPXMAS on any Bloomie’s order over $100.00, you can get free shipping, too!

Ooh, I’m getting warmer just reading the sale tags.
