Happy New Year From Twistie!

Here’s wishing you all a superfantastic 2009!

Sipping Champagne

Tune in tomorrow for more bargains…but it’s okay if you sleep in a little.

Looking Westwood

…Vivienne Westwood, that is. Westwood’s extravagant style has always resonated with me, and this brooch is no exception.

Made of rhodium-plated bronze decorated with Swarovski crystals, it’s definitely going to get noticed each and every time you wear it. And well it should be noticed! This is not jewelry for the faint of heart, but it’s the perfect detail for those with the personality to wear it.

Another thing not for the faint of heart is the regular price tag of $420.00. The good news is that it’s half off at <Net-A-Porter, which means you can get it for just $210.00. Yeah, I’m not fainting at that price.

Messenger of Style

One of my favorite things is to have a good, stylish bag that I can just throw over my shoulder for a bit of everyday awesome. When I imagine that bag, it looks a lot like this:

Kale Diego Messenger Bag The perfect long strap, the perfect amount of slouchiness, the perfect attitude…this messenger sack from Kale has got everything.

What’s my favorite feature? Well, I have to admit that would be the price tag for this much fantastic. The retail price is $500.00, but at Amazon.com right now I can get the black version for a mere $136.00! The white is a little more expensive at $186.00, but still a heck of a great deal.

Regal Rock

I’ve always been very fond of amethyst. The gorgeous color, the glorious sparkle…I always felt great sympathy with Anne of Green Gables who was so disappointed when she realized that diamonds weren’t a spectacular purple. My guess is that she wouldn’t be diappointed in this ring!

Oval 2carat Amethyst Ring That’s two full carats of glorious purple perfection surrounded by 1/6 carat of tiny diamonds set in 14k white gold.

Of course all that pretty doesn’t come cheap. The good news is, I know where you can get it at a superfantastic deal. The suggested retail price is a whopping $1,329.00, but if you head over to UltraDiamonds.com
you can get it for just $399.00. That’s a savings of nearly a thousand dollars!

I don’t know about you, but I’m imagining that on my finger…and it isn’t making my bank account wince.

Get the Big O for Less

No, not that big O! I’m talking about the Riedel “O” series wine tumblers.

Riedel Set of 8

Not only are they pretty to look at and pleasant to hold, these wine tumblers are made of non-leaded crystal, so they’re safe to use anytime. They’re even dishwasher safe, so long as you use the top rack for them. Handsome, comfortable, and practical…yeah, that’s what I call superfantastic.

Of course it doesn’t hurt that they’re on sale at Cooking.com
. A six-piece set usually sells for $118.00, which isn’t at all bad for good crystal. Right now, though, through December 31, you can get them as an eight-piece set for just $69.95! That means you save nearly fifty bucks and get two extra glasses.

Drink up and enjoy!

Friday Finds Under Fifty: The December Decor Edition

It’s long been one of my best money-saving mantras that the best time to buy new decorations for a holiday is the week after it passes the year before. For instance, today is the perfect time to start shopping for new Christmas decorations (and gifts!) for next year.

Here are a couple examples of the great deals you can get if you hurry:

Glass Ornaments Rocking Horse Ornament Need new ornaments for the tree? Fitz and Floyd is a great place to go. This adorable glass Rocking Horse Ornament usually retails for a cool $38.00, but right now it can be yours for just $9.95.

Merry Christmas from Twistie!

Christmas Tree May you find everything you wanted from Santa under the tree…but if he doesn’t come through, check back tomorrow and I’ll show you where to find a good deal on what he forgot.

Peace, joy, and great shoes to you all!

Save Some Coin, Put It In This Purse

I love things that have unexpected details. That’s why I got excited when I saw this superfantastic clutch with attached coin purse from Hobo International:

Hobo International Clutch Plus Coin Purse It’s the perfect size for an evening out or a quick afternoon errand and comes in your choice of garnet (shown), lapis, or black leather.

Inside, you’ll find a zippered pocket, a cell phone pocket, four card slots, and a cheerful print lining. On the outside, there’s a tiny pocket to hold the matching coin purse, secured by a delicate gold chain. All in all, it’s hard to imagine a better combination of whimsey and practicality.

Speaking of practicality, it’s also on sale. Originally priced at $178.00, it’s been marked down to just $118.90 at Shop Nordstrom, which means you’ll have something left to put in that coin purse once you get it home. Now what could possibly be better than that?

Perhaps to have one in every available color!

Last Minute Lovely

Still don’t have a gift for someone special in your life? Don’t panic! If you rush over to Sun Jewelry right now, you can still havethis under the tree for her on Christmas morning:

Amethyst and Diamond Heart Pendant That’s a .60 carat amethyst surrounded by .30 carats of diamonds and set in 14k white gold. Beautiful, isn’t it?

What’s more, it’s an amazing deal. The suggested retail price on this is $475.00, but as I said, you’ll want to go to Sun Jewelry, where you can get it for just $190.00 and still get it in time for the holiday. But hurry! If you order tomorrow, it won’t be there in time.

Happy Hanukkah From Twistie!

Tonight is the start of Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights. I’d like to wish a very happy one to all my readers who celebrate the holiday.

I wish you all health, happiness, light and a year of miraculous events.
