Snakes? Charming!

Zoe & Morgan Double Snake Earrings In honor of my favorite snake-hating archeologist whose new adventures hit theaters tomorrow, I felt I needed to talk about these fabulous Zoe & Morgan double cobra earrings. They’re elegant, sassy, and delicate looking with their gold plating, pink opal beads, and fun tassels.

The best news of all, though, is that they’re on a great sale at Net-A-Porter, along with dozens of other superfantastic designer items. Net-A-Porter usually sells these lovelies for $165.00, but they’ve slashed the price in half to just $82.00!

Now, can I get them here in time to wear to the opening?

Shop Smart, Look Smart

Is there a man in your life who needs to upgrade his work wardrobe? Is there a man in your life who needs a decent interview shirt or two? Are you the man in need of something classy to wear at a bargain price?

Then head over to Paul Frederick Menstyle and take a look at the sale they have going on right now. They’re taking up to $70.00 off business suits and $10.00 off select dress shirts. Or you can visit their clearance racks and find even bigger bargains.

This handsome contrast collar, French cuff dress shirt, for example, usually sells for $59.50.

Imperial 100s Bengal Stripe Dress Shirt Right now, though, you can get it for just $29.50 in purple, sky blue, or tan. The brown and the gold are an even better deal at a mere $19.50, but the navy and burgundy are still - alas! - at full price.

Still, even the full price is a pretty good deal. Made of machine washable cotton broadcloth, this shirt is both handsome and easy to care for. I wonder if Mr. Twistie would wear it….

Coil Up With a Cold One

There’s nothing like a cold beer on a hot day…or so they tell me. I’m not actually a beer drinker. Still, these gorgeous hand-blown beer glasses by Javier Gutierrez and Efren Canteras are just about enough to tempt even me to try it out.

Coiled Beer Glasses Javier and Efren are working to preserve Mexico’s tradition of glass blowing, and I have to say that beautiful work like this should do the trick! The sturdy, bold design and charmingly whimsical cobalt blue coil decoration is both practical and pretty. The 16 oz. capacity will slake the thirst easily. They are even dishwasher safe (top rack recommended).

And if, like me, you’re not really a beer drinker, well, there’s no law that says you can’t fill them with lemonade or milkshakes or iced tea.

Whatever your drink of choice, I’d encourage heading over to Overstock.com and taking a closer look. Originally priced at $92.95, they’ve been marked down to just $52.99 for a set of six. That’s less than ten dollars apiece for hand-blown glasses! I’ll drink to that.

A Palm for Your Palm

Old Navy is having a huge summer blow out sale. That means plenty of cute, cheerful cool summer items for fifteen dollars or less! I highly recommend heading over to their website to take advantage of great deals on tank tops, swimwear, beach totes, beach towels, and loads of other great items.

The one that caught my eye, though, was a purse. What a surprise! Twistie likes a purse! Yes, but this is one even the most impecunious college student can afford and still be superfantastic.

Straw Palm Tree Clutch How cute is this straw clutch with its design of palm trees on it? It’s perfect for slipping into your beach tote in case everyone decides to go out for a drink afterwards. It’s great for adding a touch of whimsey to a summer party outfit, too. Oh, and if you’re not wild about the color or the palm trees, it comes in four colors, two without the trees.

And yes, it’s part of the sale so it’s under fifteen dollars. In fact, it’s under ten dollars! Originally priced at a thrifty $12.50, it’s been marked down to just $7.50. That’s a price that will leave something in your wallet in even the most economically dismal times!

If you want me for more sale advice, I’ll be at the beach.

Games For People To Play

Sometimes it feels good to sit down with a good friend or family member and play a classic game like backgammon or chess. Not everyone, though, has their own board or pieces.

<>Geoffrey Parker Travel Backgammon/Chess/Checkers set But if you own this handsome travel game set by Geoffrey Parker, you’ll be ready whether the game is backgammon, chess or checkers. The hinged board folds into a thin, easy to carry case and the pieces are magnetic in case you want to play while travelling. And at two pounds, chances are it weighs less than your laptop. No matter where you go with this set, you’ll be ready to challenge anyone to a game in style.

Best of all, it’s on sale. Saks Fifth Ave normally carries this multi-game set for $425.00, but they’ve slashed the price to just $255.00. Now, is anyone up for a game of chess?

A Pinch of Pucci

Regular readers of this space are familiar with the name YOOX. After all, they discount designer fashions and accessories every day of the year. That means when they decide to blow things out, you’re getting them at an incredible deal you’ll never find anywhere else.

Well, right now they’re having a huge sale. If you act now, you can save up to 90% off their already insanely low prices. You’ll have to hurry, though, because the sale ends on the 19th.
Emilio Pucci Wallet This fun yet elegant Emilio Pucci leather wallet features the signature splashy, colorful print typical of the line. It also has a practical snap closure and internal coin pocket. When you pull this baby out of your purse, those in the know will be very sure who designed it, and those not in the know will probably still get a smile from the cheerful colors and exuberant lines.

How much did it cost originally? YOOX isn’t telling. But YOOX was selling it for $301.00. For a limited time, though, they’re selling it for just $150.00. That’s half off the low, low YOOX price! If I were you, I’d get my skates on!

There’s nothing like silk velvet to give an impression of luxury. And there’s nothing like a sale on it to make my little heart skip a beat with joy.

Fire Place Scarf This fabulous silk velvet scarf from the Hippy Chix Shop is richly colored in black, brown, rust, and touches of gold and measures 14″ x 63″. Drape it dramatically around your neck, or use it as a very light weight summer stole. Heck, get two and use one as an unusual and superfantastic table runner! At the price, you can’t go wrong.

And what is that price? Well, normally this gorgeous scarf is a steal at just $29.00, but now through friday only it’s been marked down to a mere $20.30! And while you’re there, be sure to check out their other bargains. The look is fun and funky, the bargains are great, and they carry plus sizes for the more buxom lady. But remember, the sale ends Friday.

Whether you’re looking for a ring to grace any random finger prettily or a really standout wedding ring, this one from Sun Jewelry is well worth checking out.

White Gold and Amethyst Ring Three gorgeous cushion cut amethysts weighing a total of 1.80 carats are set in 14k white gold (though you can trade up on the metal all the way to platinum, if you so desire, for a little extra cost) and accented by .04 carats of round cut white diamonds. All in all, this is one superfantastic piece of jewelry. It’s elegant, a touch understated, and very unexpected.

Best of all, it’s also very inexpensive for what it is. The suggested retail price for this ring is $683.00, but it can be ordered from Sun Jewelry for just $273.00! That’s a savings of $410.00! What’s not to love about that?

Chill Out

As the weather grows warmer and the mercury rises ever higher, I find myself thinking fond thoughts of ice cream, sorbets, and frozen yogurt. Delicious icy taste treats fill my thoughts and the tastebuds of my mind…and I long to fulfill my fantasies.

So imagine my delight when I was browsing Sur La Table and found this fantastic deal:

Cuisinart Frozen Yogurt, Ice Cream, and Sorbet Maker With this baby you can make your favorite frozen treats for yourself, which allows you to control what goes in as well as the fun of making something tasty. And it’s from Cuisinart, so you know it’s a quality product. It’s so easy you can have ice cream in as little as twenty minutes! It features a large spout for adding your favorite flavorings, a double-insulated freezer bowl, and a removable paddle and freezer bowl allowing for easy clean up. A book of recipes is included, and this ice cream maker doesn’t require ice, salt or chemicals. That means you can make your favorite sorbet or ice cream on the whim of a moment, which always makes ice cream taste better, if you ask me.

Best of all, it’s a great deal. The retail value is $110.00, but it’s been marked down to a mere $59.95, and just in time for summer cookouts and family picnics!

Of course, you’ll need a way to serve up those delicious frozen yogurts. And that’s where Cooking.com comes in. They have a fantastic deal on fun dessert bowls in Pfaltzgraff’s Beachcomber pattern.

Pfaltzgraff Conch Shell Dessert Bowl These charming conch shell-shaped 6 oz. bowls will add a touch of humor to whatever you serve in them. What’s more, they’re dishwasher and microwave safe. They’re even oven safe up to 350F.

The suggested retail price for the set is $69.00, but at Cooking.com they’ve been discounted to just $47.95. Oh, and if you use code C95925 at checkout, this item qualifies for $5.99 flat rate shipping. Not bad.
