Alexis Bittar Sterling Silver and Blue Topaz Earrings on Sale at New York Botanical Gardens Gift Shop » The Basement of the Bargains

Bittar and Blue for Green

By Twistie

What’s even better than a good sale on a superfantastic item? A good sale on a superfantastic item when the profits go to a good cause, that’s what!

The New York Botanical Gardens work to provide excellence in horticulture, science and education. They currently have an extensive collection of the sculptures of Henry Moore displayed throughout the gardens.

I may have the worst case of black thumb on record (I look at plants and they die horribly. I’ve killed cacti by failing to water them enough. I feel terrible about it, but I don’t seem able to overcome this particular problem.) but I do appreciate plants. I want them to grow and thrive. I also want to wear beautiful jewelry and have pretty things in my home.

Thanks to the gift shop of the New York Botanical Gardens, I can support plant life, wear beautiful jewelry, and still save money! Trifecta!

These gorgeous sterling silver and blue topaz earrings by Alexis Bittar, for instance, make my heart sing.

Alexis Bittar Blue Topaz Earrings They’re gorgeous. They look cool as ice on a hot day and sparkle beautifully. They also happen to be on sale!

Normally priced at $128.00, they’ve been marked down to just $89.60. Of course, if I got a membership, the price would fall to just $71.68 (ah, the benefits of joining things!). Either way, the profits go to plants and art, both of which I can support in a big way, even if I’m not terribly good at making either one. Everybody wins, and that’s way ahead of what’s in second place.
