Have a Garden Party, Or Just Feel Like You Did

By Twistie

I must admit I have a bit of a thing for the whimsical, particularly when it’s tableware. And so it was that these delightful flower teacups and saucers caught my eye.

Flower Teacups and Saucers
The set of four comes with one each of: tulip, carnation, water lily, and pansy. Each cup and saucer is handpainted porcelain. So pretty.

And of course you know if you’re reading about them here, they’re on sale. The original price on the eight piece set was not at all bad. That was $72.95. Of couse, the sale price from Wrappables is even better. That’s a mere $59.99.

Now, do you take lemon in your tea?

Pinstriped Men's Cashmere Scarf

There’s nothing like a great scarf to finish off a great look. There’s nothing as classic in menswear as pinstripes. It was clearly just a matter of time before someone thought to combine the two with a bit of cashmere to make this elegant and luxurious scarf.

Available in charcoal with white stripes or navy with sky blue stripes, this will keep your throat warm and look fabulous at the same time.

I know it’s meant for a man, but I have to admit I would love it, too. On the right woman it would have an amazing sass factor.

What price this bit of glorious? Well, once upon a time, Saks Fifth Ave was selling it for $175.00. Now, though, it’s been marked down to just $43.35. How can you pass up a bargain like that? Where’s my credit card?

I love organic shapes and interesting materials. When I saw these gorgeous mango wood vessels, my heart leapt.

Pottery Barn Wooden Vessels Fill them with something pretty or simply display them by themselves. For decorative use only. The small one is 10″diam x 7″ tall, and the large is 16″ x 11″.

Originally the small cost $39.00 and the large would have set you back $69.00, but you won’t have to pay that now. Head on over to Pottery Barn where the small is on sale for $29.00 and the large is just $49.00. Then take them home and pet them.

When the sun is shining and the birds are singing, you need a great look that shines just as brightly. You’d be well on your way to that look if you got this fabulous satin clutch from Betseyville by Betsey Johnson.

Polka Dot Clutch How delightful is that? It also comes in black and white polka dots or in a pink leopard print. Better yet, it’s on sale at Nordstrom. Normally priced at $135.00, it’s currently 33% off. That means you pay just $89.90. The smiles you’ll encourage are free.

Is it possible to have too many pretty dishes? Okay, maybe it is possible to have too many, but I’m going to ignore that for the great deal on Lenox dinnerware at cooking.com.

Lenox Blue Frost Place Setting Take, for instance, this gorgeous Lenox Blue Frost china. If you go to a department store, you’d spend $158.00 for this five-piece place setting. Cooking.com usually sells it for $109.95, but with the sale going on now, you can get it for just $94.80 a place setting! That’s 40% off the original retail price.

Black pearls are classy. They’re elegant. They’re superfantastic. Alas, they’re also expensive. The good news is that if you know where to look, you can find them for less without sacrificing quality.

Akoya Cultured Black Pearl Choker and Bracelet This Akoya cultured black pearl necklace and bracelet set features 14k gold clasps. Each pearl measures 5.5 - 6mm. The necklace is 18″ long and the bracelet is 7″.

Normally, this set would set you back $500.00. Luckily, it’s at overstock.com right now. Their normal price for the set is a thrify $109.00, but they have it on sale for just $98.99. That’s a savings of more than $400.00 off the original price!

But you don’t have to tell anyone you paid that little.

I love ice cream. I love special dishes. When there’s a touch of whimsey added, things just don’t get much better in my book. Oh wait a minute! There is one thing that can improve it: when I can get whimsical ice cream bowls at a great bargain price.

Red-Footed Glass Bowls I found these delightful red-footed glass ice cream bowls at Sur la Table in the sale section. They’re microwave safe, which is handy if you’re using hot fudge, but hand washing is recommended.

Originally $15.50 for a set of four, they’re marked down to just $7.89. That’s less than two dollars each!
